Let's Confess ...

It feels like forever since I've done a confessions post but I'm back to it! Jumping right in ...

1. I rocked a turtle neck, pants and flats to work today. I usually wear suits every day. That just describes my week. Go. Slow. And I'm loving it! This about sums it up ...

2. This is a really embarrassing confession. I'm almost too embarrassed to post it. Almost. I got in late from a wedding on Saturday and I parked my car in the usual spot in my apartment complex and ZONKED out. Sunday morning rolls around and I get a text from my friend and neighbour in a unit downstairs. She usually parks right next to me.  It started like this ...

She's a really cool neighbour who has become a really good friend, so although I was sleepy I threw on some clothes, walked outside and looked over the balcony to see her ... washing my filthy navy blue car. *SHAME FACE*. I about died laughing. Partly from the shame of my car being so filthy that my female neighbour decided to wash it and partly because well ... it was funny. And guys she did not just wash it!

She had just got done washing her car and decided my car needed some TLC. Don't worry I thanked her profusely while outside but still had to send a message when I ran back in to put on real clothes to go help her (she refused the help). But guess who is too ashamed to have a dirty car now? Car wash budget in check.

3. This is my intern's last week, and I'm both rejoicing and a little sad. Poor bugger has grown on me! Who will willingly offer to go get me lunch now? Joking. A little. Ill still see him though, like I said before he now helps train me at my gym. He's a beast. Anyhoo, although 99% of the time I look at him dead in his face and wonder whether the wheels are actually spinning in that little head, on his last day I may tell him ...

4. Speaking of the intern, he and I were a little dishonest last week. I pride myself being an honest person so this bothered me for a second. Last week Thursday after a hectic work day we rolled into a Wendy's drive through to get a salad for me for a late (understatement) lunch. I told the intern I would get him lunch too. I ordered my salad and a fish sandwich for him. They gave us an extra sandwich ... In my defence I did not notice until I was fully on the highway headed home. I would have had to drive in LOTS of traffic just to go back and return it! So the intern kept the extra sandwich. Karma got me though, they gave me the wrong salad. I ordered a Caeser and got a salad that had apples in it. If you know me well, then you know I think fruits have NO place in a salad. (I love fruit and I love salads, and I even think fruit salads look pretty but I prefer my fruit and salad separate ...) Dare I say that I think that me having to pick out unwanted fruit from a salad when I hadn't eaten all day is punishment enough for my sins ...

That's all for today guys!

Have a Great Wednesday!

  1. I kind of really wish that one of my friends would wash my car for me.. mine is so dirty right now that I almost can't stand to drive it ha ha. That was really sweet of her though!
Bummer about your salad. It's so frustrating when places get your food wrong.

  2. Your neighbor is the sweetest! Also, all this talk of your intern makes me nervous about what all my supervising attorneys were saying about me when I wasn't around. Although I'm sure I wasn't as helpful as your intern seems to be. Goodness, they probably cursed my existence! Ha!

  3. I though you were going to say that you literally passed out in your car. That would have been hilarious!! What a nice neighbor, geez good people. Umm one of my coordinators was supposed to be working for another project manager yesterday morning. Said PM was not in the office. At noon I hear him telling my coordinator that he hadn't done anything all morning. Excuse me what did you say?! I almost went bat shit crazy on him. I'm buried in work and you are sitting there doing nothing. No wheels turning in that one...

  6. Girl the drive thru is always messing things up. I think that they miss giving me something more often then giving me too much. I would not have turned around either. I rarely clean my care either. It's just part of life lol.

  7. gahh! fruits do not have any place in a salad! thank you. i love fruit and i love salad, not together. the only fruit that belongs in a salad are tomatoes, but i think i remember you dont like them haha. but seriously can your neighbour be my neighbour? my car is filthy.

  8. you have such a sweet neighbor! I also feel you on the heartbreak of the drive thru getting your order wrong. I've cried over a messed up drive thru order more times than I'd care to admit........

  9. What a great neighbor to do that for you! I admit that my car was looking pretty rough last winter. Who wants to wash a car in the freezing cold, though? If I paid to have it washed, it would just get dirty again a day later because of snow and salt, so I just let it go.
If it makes you feel any better, when I was a student I worked at a Wendy's on campus, and if someone said they got a larger size or an extra sandwich by accident, I would have told them to keep it. :)

  10. That's so nice of your neighbor! If it makes you feel any better, I don't think they can take the food back once they've given it to you. I once went through the Chick fil A drive through and ordered one meal... When they handed me the bag, I had four sandwiches and three fries! I tried to hand it back but they wouldn't take it. Luckily, there are always homeless in that area so a couple of them ate well that day :) Happy Wednesday!

  12. Um your neighbor is amazing and that second fish sandwich rightfully had your name all over it (although it's no salad).

  13. Fruit does NOT belong in salad.

Your neighbor is free to live next to me.

  14. Unbuttoning and taking off my pants/jeans (oh, and my bra) at the end of the day is the best feeling! lol...That's so sweet of your neighbor to wash your car just for so.

  15. Wow, what an amazing neighbor! That's so sweet. What a kind gesture. It's so nice to hear about good people in the world:)

  16. That first ecard is how I feel EVERY day!!!

I need a neighbor to start washing my car! No fair!!!

This is how I see getting a "free" item....I get screwed so much on stuff all the time...that I see it as karma paying me back if someone doesnt ring something up, or an extra fry gets thrown in my bag. It will even out to the double scan at Target or the item that was supposed to be on sale but wasn't.

  17. Okay your neighbor would probably have a heart attack if she had to see my car. I don't ever think it's really that dirty {I mean it does get rained on, and I don't drive through the mud} but I haven't washed it all year. Ooops. Also, a turtleneck?? Isn't it hot where you are?? And jeez, I don't envy you wearing suits every day. I think I've been pretty spoiled by the fact that I can wear leggings to work... and I do at least once a week. Casual offices are my lifeblood now.

  18. I have never ever experienced someone else washing my car for me. Ever. I have had my car really dirty before but nobody has ever done that.

Yes, isn't it too hot for a turtle neck?

  20. I totally thought you passed out in your car!!! What a sweet neighbor!!

  21. Your neighbor is pretty cool. We don't have an outdoor hose or anything, so anytime we want a car wash, we have to drive to one haha. Sooooo, that rarely happens x).

  22. How sweet is your neighbour!!!! That's adorable!!
Oh and re the food, it's actually unhygienic for them to take it back. It was their error so if you'd wanted to be super honest you could have offered to pay for it, but them taking it back should be a no, no. Think of all the things you could have done with it.... Then what would they do, resell it? (even opening it up to see what it is is an issue but there are other thinks like an ill timed sneeze before you closed it up again lol). I know that's exaggerating but would you want to think the lunch you just bought had been in someone else's possession (someone not working at the restaurant) before it got to you? Shudder!
I hope your intern enjoyed his extra sandwich! Lol

    1. Yes she's the sweetest! haha I was so ashamed!
I honestly never got extra in an order so I did not know they could not take it back ... I would have paid for it though. He enjoyed his sandwich and I suffered through my salad haha

      love you sis!!

  23. Super nice of your neighbor! I actually considered washing my car yesterday but then a huge storm rolled in and Mother Nature took care of it for me! Also no big on the Wendy's thing. They ALWAYS give my husband the wrong thing so when we get something extra we take it as a thanks for being patient while we consistently confuse your order! LOL

  24. LOL that's hilarious about your neighbor washing your car! I kinda wish I had a neighbor to do that for me but all my neighbors are jerks so I get stuck washing it myself. Not cool. And yes to getting sick of wearing pants and having responsibilities. Can't I just stay in my pjs on the couch all day?!?

  26. Your work outfit sounds very Audrey Hepburn so rock it! Your poor neglected dirty car. I think i might work with your intern, or maybe just a lot of clones of him! Haha!

  27. I get sad when the law clerks leave. Like, I didn't like them but... I trained them and they grow on me and then they leave and I have to start all over. Whomp :(

  28. Lol! I would not have considered the free sandwich as being dishonest. Whenever that happens to me, I just call it a free sample and move on. I agree about the fruits in salad though.
