You ever had a show that you loved and that just always put you in a good mood? For many it was Friends, for me and my sister it was Sex and the City. We would watch it for hours and hours on end and then watch it the next day all over again. I literally cannot get tired of this show.
Anyway, I was watching an episode last night (thanks cable for showing reruns forever – also thanks to me for never scheduling posts) and I remembered why I loved this show so much. Apart from the the obvious reasons why I would gravitate to the show – its based in NYC (one of the best cities), its the story of a writer, its all about friendships, love and life and failures and successes… the reason I love it is because it was a show filled with wisdom … and so damn quotable.
Per Carrie:
“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going”
(my motto for the last year)
“The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don’t. But, in the end, they’re the people you always come home to. Sometimes it’s the family you’re born into and sometimes it’s the one you make for yourself.”
“The universe may not always play fair, but at least it’s got a hell of a sense of humour”
“I’m someone who is looking for love, real love, ridiculous inconvenient consuming cant live without each other love”
“It wasn’t logic, it was love.”
“Eventually all the pieces fall into place … until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason.”
Per Samantha:
“The good ones screw you, the bad ones screw you, and the rest don’t know how to screw you”
#classic
“I think I have monogamy. I caught it from you”
“From my experience honey, if he seems too good to be true, he probably is”
Per Miranda:
“Sexy is what I try to get them to see me as after I win them over with my personality”
“I just realized … maybe its maturity of the wisdom that comes with age but the witch in Hansel and Gretel, she’s very misunderstood. I mean, the woman builds her dream house and these brats come along and start eating it.”
“I want to enjoy my success, not apologize for it”
Per Charlotte:
“Im sweet, romantic and traditional. I’m a bit prissy and naive, and I wont settle for less than a picture perfect life.”
”Everything happens for a reason even if you don’t know what it is yet”
“But people do live happily ever after”
There you have it, some of my favourite Sex and the City quotes. Some I’ve had written down for years! One or two are stuck in my journal. All of them I love. Do you have any favourite Sex and the City quotes?
Have a great Tuesday!!!
