So, in the last year or so my makeup and beauty collection has grown. I jumped on the makeup train later than most so my makeup collection is still not massive by any stretch of the imagination (and likely never will be), but it has grown. I tend to mix up higher end brands with drugstore brands because well, sometimes they do the same job and why pay more when I can get the same thing for less. Anyway, I have quite a few drugstore beauty items that are now staples for me.
In the non-makeup department, I also have a few drugstore items I’ve been loving lately. Sharing my favourites today (all items shown below):
The best way I would describe this is part gloss and part lipstick. I typically use the colour addis ababa, but I do have this in several colours. Its creamy and applies like a dream. It isn’t long wear and I use it as a gloss more than a lipstick – love it.
2. L’oreal Color Riche Le Gloss in the colour Violet attitude
L’oreal may be my favourite drugstore brand. This comes in so many shades and I’ve been using the shade violet attitude for years (you can actually see it in a makeup bag in this post). Sometimes I just use lipliner, chap stick and this on my lip and head to work. The texture is a little sticky (hence the chap stick beneath) but I love it and it’ll alway be one of my favourite drug store beauty items.
I’ve mentioned this so many times on this blog. Love this mascara, its better than all the non-drugstore ones I have. It may dry up a bit faster but the volume this gives makes it worth double its cost.
4. Revlon Colorstay Eyeliners (both Brown and Black)
Another staple for me. I use black for eyeliner, and brown for my eyebrows (its the only brown pencil brow or eye that exactly matches my brows so yes I use eyeliner on my brows. Guys you never have to reapply these and it doesn’t smudge. I love them.
5. Chap Stick (classic cherry)
I mean for as long as I can remember I’ve been using cherry chap. Still love.
I mix this up with some other more expensive cleansers, but as I said, I am a creature of habit, and this has been a part of my morning routine for years Im not sure that will be changing anytime soon.
I will likely never go back to using a regular deodorant again. I really love this stick (and Danny uses one too). My mum actually introduced me to this earlier this year. It has no scent but it really does work. You wet the stick to apply and voila – instant deodorant. Love this one. Also your clothes will thank you.
