Thirty – Three

I snapped the photo above while strolling through the town of Sibiu in Romania yesterday. Danny myself and his parents are currently road tripping through Romania for my birthday week. I can’t wait to share it the entire trip in the next couple of months. Im a bit backlogged – haven’t even shared my honeymoon in Greece yet but I digress… that’s not the point of this post.

I don’t ever post on Sundays so it must be a special day. In fact it is the most special day of the year. My birthday. Yep today I turn 33. Almost mid-thirties.

I used to fear my thirties when I was younger, but somehow my thirties turned out to be some of the most rewarding years of my life. I got engaged, got married to the sweetest human, travelled a lot around the Caribbean (Guyana, Barbados and Tobago) and even Europe several times just in the last year, gained two absolutely beautiful step-kids (that I probably won’t ever feature on the blog – we’ll see), switched jobs, matured a tonne and generally gained more confidence in who and what I am.

My plan of being married with a kid and a half by 30 didn’t pan out but I dare to say that things turned out even better than expected. I feel blessed. I am blessed.

So cheers to thirty-three and all the ups and downs that will come this year. If my prayers are answered with a yes there’ll be a baby in the next year or so and if its a no, well I’m now old enough to know that there are peaks and valleys on this journey called life and it’ll be ok anyway.

Happy Birthday to ME!!
